Torque Limiter
Tightening Torques under Control
If components are to be fixed to each other, the screws have to be tightened to an exact torque.
To prevent tightening torques being exceeded, one works with torque limiters.
Whoever acquires a torque limiter from VMA is buying not just any standard tool, but a high-end tool adapted to the needs and wishes of the customer. It is the customer who starts by specifiying the disengagement torque. Our specialists at VMA can then draw on two standard housing ranges which already cover torques from 5 to 90 Nm. From mini to maxi versions, everything is realisable.
Equally broad is the choice of preset values, which are determined by the number of springs on the inside of the limiter and by their pre-tensioning. Beyond that, materials can also be selected for such uses as hygienic, sterile applications in the food-stuffs industry or medical technology.
The Customer has the choice of adaptations. VMA offers complete packages with crank handles and various grips and sockets.
The advantage of the compact torque limiter: it can be fitted onto any already existing tool you wish. This is possible because of the 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" adapters. The application areas for the VMA torque limiter, known as the DMB, are numerous.
